The client

Omniga GmbH & Co. KG is a multi-brand company and, with over 25 years of experience in the digital business, counts among the largest IT companies in Regensburg.

Starting point

Omniga operated a heterogeneous application landscape based on .NET Framework 4.6 for years. This consisted of several business-critical applications, including:

Internal systems automating central business processes
Customer-facing SaaS platforms actively used by external customers

The applications were functionally stable but technologically obsolete and organically grown over time. This created typical legacy challenges across the enterprise:

Outdated runtime with limited support
High technical debt across multiple systems
Tight coupling between applications and infrastructure
Impaired maintainability and further development
Rising operational and maintenance costs
Increasing security and compliance risks

Modernisation was necessary to position the entire application landscape as maintainable, secure, and future-proof for the long term.

Objectives

Approach

Rather than a risky big-bang rewrite, we chose a structured, incremental modernisation approach prioritising control, transparency, and stability.
