Tech42 was founded out of a deep passion for technology — and the conviction that innovative software engineering can be pragmatic, clean, and close to the client. Hamburg is home. Our focus has always been on small and mid-sized companies that need bespoke software but don’t want corporate-firm structures.
We build the software we recommend — from architecture to code, from pilot to production. Where AI today creates real value, we integrate existing services like Claude, OpenAI, or Azure AI — pragmatically and GDPR-compliant.

17+ years of experience as software consultant, architect, and engineer — including several years in Australia in advisory and team-lead roles. Today Jan runs Tech42 Software Solutions GmbH from Hamburg with the goal of giving German SMEs a reliable, competent partner for their custom software development.
